Why you join our electrical trade?

On completion of the course the trainee shall have through knowledge of design and laying of wiring of domestic and commercial building. He shall have full knowledge of power generation, transmission and distribution system, insulators. Earthing, power house, lighting arrestor, reactor, and capacitors employed in circuit to be used in electrical installation. Construction of different types of batteries and preparing electrolytes used in it. Servicing and repairing of table fan, ceiling fan, exhaust fan, hair dryer, mixer, motors, pump, generator, transformers and relays used in AC/DC circuit. He shall be able to, design prepare panel boards used for industries / workshop. Detect Fault in different types of AC and DC starter and motor timer used in factories and workshop and connect different types of measuring instrument on the panel boards. He shall be an expert in hand winding and machine winding of transformers, field coils of DC motors, rewinding of armature stator winding bell/Buzzer/NVC, OLC of DC starter.

Moreover, the need of extracting useful energy from renewable energy resources. We will give knowledge of solar cell, how the batteries are charged through solar cell, and various in between components. We will give the full concept through theory and practical on solar system. We have 10 kW solar power plant installed on terrace of the building. We will provide Solar Certification course for those who excel.

Introduction : This course is meant for the candidates who aspire to become a professional in electrical trade.

Details of Motors

Our electrical laboratory is equipped with various motors which covers the vide knowledge of electrical engineering. The motors are DC Shunt, DC Series, DC Compound, Induction Motors namely slip ring induction motor and squirrel cage induction motor, Synchronous motor. The need of energy saving leads Power electronic devices to come as a substantial subject. So my lab has separate motor equipped with control switching circuit for DC as well as AC motors. The concept of DC, Induction and Synchronous Generators will also be given in practical aspect along with theory by using coupled AC DC motor generator set. Lab is also equipped with all the tool and instrument required for imparting good technical knowledge.

1. Generator Set Motor

motor generator set refers to a composite device consisting of a motor and a generator mechanically coupled through the common shaft. It is a device used to convert electrical power from one form to another. Star delta starter is used to start the 3 phase induction motor and mechanically coupled three phase DC shunt generator.

2. Synchronous Motor

This motor runs exactly at synchronous speed. Its control panel has variable DC Dimmer to vary the excitation of DC fed armature. Here trainee will get the opportunity to learn the stability limit of motor by varying the Dimmer. This motor has the stability issue due to locking of three phase rotating stator and DC flux of armature. The motor has DC excitation mounted on the rotor side.

3. SCIM with Star Delta Starter

his motors are used in low power application. Here the trainee will learn the need of star delta starter required to switch on the motor.

4. WRIM with Resistance Starter

This type of motor are used in high power application. The WRIM has slip rings, so it is also named as slip ring induction motor (SRIM). This motor has a provision for insertion of external resistance which is inserted to provide high starting torque. Here the trainee will learn about motor and the need of resistance type starting.

5. V-V/V-F AC Motor Drive

The need of energy saving lead us to grow the knowledge about Power electronic devices. The variable voltage and variable frequency drive are useful to control speed below rated speed. The power electronic device will give a very smooth variation in speed of ac drive.

6. D.C Compound Motor

A compound wound DC motor or rather a DC compound motor falls under the category of self excited motors, and is made up of both series the field coils S1 S2 and shunt field coils F1 F2 connected to the armature winding. Here the trainee will also understand the difference between commutatively compounding and differently compound motor.

7. D.C Shunt Motor

The field winding is in parallel with DC supply. This motor also fall in self excited category. Residual magnetism result in step wise back emf production.

8. D.C Series Motor

This motor is also self excited motor. Due to high starting torque this motor are always started on load condition.

9. Thyristor Controlled DC Motor

DC motor drives gives the very smooth control on speed. The power electronic device used here is rectifier. The knob given in the control circuit will vary the firing angle of thyristors and hence speed control can be achieved.

10. D.C Shunt Generator

The DC shunt generators which are have very little application will also be illustrated. A shunt generator is a type of direct current electric generator in which field winding and armature winding are connected in parallel, and in which the armature supplies both the load current and the field current.

11. D.C Compound Generator

In Compound Wound Generator, there are two sets of the field winding on each pole. One of them is connected in series having few turns of thick wire, and the other is connected in parallel having many turns of fine wire with the armature windings. It is connected in two ways. One is a long shunt compound generator, and another is a short shunt compound generator.

12. Universal Motor

The motors which can be used with a single phase AC source as well as a DC source of supply and voltages are called as Universal Motor. It is also known as Single Phase Series Motor. A universal motor is a commutation type motor. If the polarity of the line terminals of a DC Series Motor is reversed, the motor will continue to run in the same direction.

13. CRO (Cathode Ray Oscilloscope)

The Cathode Ray Oscilloscope is an instrument which we use in laboratory to display measure and analyse various waveforms of various electrical and electronic circuits. Actually cathode ray oscilloscope is very fast X-Y plotters that can display an input signal versus time or other signal. Cathode ray oscilloscope uses luminous spot which is produced by striking the beam of electrons and this luminous spot moves in response variation in the input quantity.
